1. Introduction
Showerly LLC (“Showerly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates showerly.co. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, submit forms, or engage our bathroom remodeling services in the Raleigh-Durham Triangle area.
2. Information We Collect
Personal Information
We may collect the following information when you contact us or request our services:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Property address
- ZIP code
- Project details and service requirements
- Photos or images of your property (when provided for estimates)
- Payment information (processed securely through third-party processors)
- Your typed name and the date and time when you sign a quote, change order or final approval electronically
When you create an account on our website, the account is your request for a quote: we keep the details above and send a one-time sign-in link to the email you give us. There is no password to store.
Mat-Black, Our AI Assistant
Mat-Black answers questions on our website, inside your account and for our team. When its AI is turned on, your messages are processed by an AI service provider that writes the replies on our behalf. Before a message reaches the AI service, and in what we keep of the conversation, we remove phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses and the name you introduce yourself with. Conversations are deleted within 8 days. Please do not share payment card numbers or other sensitive details in the chat.
On our home page you can also talk to Mat-Black. Your browser’s speech recognition turns your voice into text (some browsers, such as Chrome, send the audio to the browser maker’s speech service to do this); we receive only the text, and the spoken replies are read aloud by your browser.
Inside your account, Mat-Black can read your own quotes, project stage, invoices and visits to answer you, but never your name, email, phone or street address. Our team can ask it to summarize your request; for that it receives your project details (such as the service, the city and what you chose), never your contact details: names, phone numbers, email addresses and street addresses in your message or notes are removed first.
General questions asked on our public pages (for example “do you install grab bars?”) and the answers may be kept, without anything that identifies you, so the Showerly team can review them and approve answers for the next person who asks. Questions with personal details are not kept for this. Unreviewed questions are deleted after 60 days.
Property Records
When you ask us for a visit or a quote, we look up public county property records for the address you give us (for example the year the home was built, which matters for lead-safe work rules, and who the county lists as owning the home) and may view a street-level image of the home from Google Maps. Only our team sees this. We do not store the street-level image, and we delete the map location within 30 days.
Job and Trade-Partner Applications
If you apply to work with us, we collect what you send in the application, including licenses, insurance certificates and other documents.
Automatically Collected Information
When you visit our website, we may automatically collect:
- Browser type and version
- Device information
- IP address and general location
- Pages visited and session duration
- Referring URL
- Cookies and similar technologies
To protect our forms from spam and abuse, we record technical signals about each submission (for example a one-way scrambled version of your IP address, timing and an automated spam score). We use them only to block abuse, never for advertising.
Communication Records
We keep the messages and emails exchanged between you and Showerly to coordinate your visit and project.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and manage bathroom remodeling services

4. SMS/Text Messaging Policy
Consent & Opt-In
We text you only if you check the separate text-message box on one of our forms. Sending a form, or giving us your phone number, does not sign you up for text messages. The box reads: “Yes, Showerly may send me text messages about my request and my visit (confirmations and reminders). Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Consent is not a condition of purchase.”
Message types include:
- Confirmations and reminders about your visit
- Updates about your request and your project
We do not send promotional text messages.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. You may opt out at any time.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies with your request and your project.
Opt-Out
- Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from all text communications
- Reply HELP for assistance
- You can also opt out by sending us a message through our contact form at https://showerly.co/contact
Costs
Message and data rates may apply. Showerly does not charge for text messages, but your carrier’s standard messaging rates apply.
Data Handling
Phone numbers collected for SMS are not shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Text messages are delivered through a messaging service provider that acts on our behalf.
5. Email Communications
- When you send us a request, we email you about that request, your visit and your project
- Every email that is not strictly about your visit or project includes an unsubscribe link
- Emails about your visit and project (confirmations, updates) continue while your project is active
- Emails are delivered through an email service provider that acts on our behalf
6. Information Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal information.
We may share your information with:
- Trade partners on your project: licensed plumbers, electricians and installers receive only what they need for your job, such as your name, address and the scope of work
- Payment Processors: To securely process transactions for services rendered
- Email/SMS Service Providers: For communication delivery
- AI Service Provider: Only when Mat-Black’s AI is on and you (or our team, about your request) use it, to write the replies, without your contact details
- Website Hosting Providers: To run our website and customer portal
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental request
7. Cookies & Tracking
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising or retargeting cookies. We use only what the site needs to work: a sign-in cookie for the client portal and the team area, and settings saved in your own browser (for example light or dark mode, or a form you started and did not send).
You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.
8. Data Security
We implement the following measures to protect your personal information:
- SSL/TLS encryption on all pages
- Client portal accounts have no password: you sign in with a one-time link that expires (team accounts use protected passwords)
- Limited access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
- Security reviews of our software
If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you without unreasonable delay and, when North Carolina law requires it, notify the North Carolina Attorney General.
9. Data Retention
- Mat-Black conversations (website, your account and our team): deleted automatically about 8 days after the chat starts
- General questions kept for review (without anything that identifies you): deleted after 60 days without activity unless approved as an answer
- Map location of your address: deleted automatically after 30 days
- Sign-in links and sessions: deleted automatically 30 days after they expire
- Job and trade-partner applications: applications marked as spam are deleted after 90 days; the documents of a closed application are deleted after 180 days
- Requests that did not become work (no quote signed): anonymized automatically no later than 24 months after the last activity. Your name, contact details, address, messages and photos are removed
- Requests, quotes and projects: kept in our records so we can serve you, honor your warranty and keep the business records the law requires (contracts, invoices and payments)
You may ask us for a copy of your data, or to delete it, at any time through our contact form. We send the copy as a file (JSON or CSV). To delete, we remove or anonymize your personal information everywhere in our system, including your photos. We keep only what the law requires us to keep (signed quotes and change orders, invoices and payment records) and the record that you opted out of text messages, so we never text you again.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of marketing communications (email and SMS)
- Withdraw consent for text messaging at any time
11. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review this page regularly to stay informed about how we protect your information.
